Xing Fu Tang was brought to fame by its wonderfully caramelly Brown Sugar Pearls. It’s the reason that most people have heard of them, and it’s the reason why most people make their way to Xing Fu Tang.

BEYOND BROWN SUGAR PEARLS

But there’s more to Xing Fu Tang than just brown sugar pearl milk tea drinks, because, even if you live for brown sugar milk tea, sometimes you want a break and want to try something different.

This is their menu, and as you can see, they have other selections that you may want to try:

I recently tried the Lemon Black Tea (P100) and I like it. It’s a natural-tasting lemon iced tea – very different from the powdered, instant stuff! And they don’t scrimp on the lemons! It’s a delicious way to get your dose of Vitamin C, especially now that we’re in the middle of the rainy season.

I was told that this is the same drink that is popular in Hong Kong.

Other signature drinks that I plan to try next time are the Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta, the Brown Sugar Boba Black Tea Latte, and the Strawberry Boba Milk.

Here’s a picture of the Mango Smoothie with Rabbit Panna Cotta (P140) that someone else ordered:

It has strawberry-flavored pearls, a mango smoothie, and a rabbit-shaped panna cotta on top. The rabbit panna cotta is placed on top of a plastic film so it won’t sink into the drink, and it’s up to you to eat/drink it however you please. This is so pretty it’s #1 on my list to order next time!

Another drink that caught my eye was this pretty blue drink that looks like it’s made of swirling magic and unicorns! This is the Soda and Handmade Jelly (P130) and it’s also on my list to try next time!

Here’s Janica Lao, the COO of Xing Fu Tang, preparing a brown sugar boba drink for a customer! As far as I know, Xing Fu Tang is the only milk tea place that uses the traditional way of making brown sugar boba on the spot, stir-frying the pearls and brown sugar on a wok.

Xing Fu Tang is not just brown sugar boba drinks – they actually have a very interesting variety of other flavors. Let’s get out of our comfort zone and try something new! Who knows, we might find some new favorites!
