Maybelline Fit Me Set

This is a review of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, concealer and pressed powder that I got during the Maybelline Fit Me event a few weeks ago.

You can see pictures of the events and the products, including information about the shades available in this blog post.

During the event, I guess it wasn’t applied very well so the product oxidized on me. However, when I got home, I used the Maybelline Fit me the next day I went out, and it’s been the one I have been using since.

Maybelline Fit Me Set 2

I really like it. Out of all the liquid foundations and BB creams that I have, the Maybelline Fit Me is the one that looks the most natural. My HG foundation is still L’Oreal True Match in Gold Ivory (the one with the pump dispenser), but that gives me a glowing, dewy look. But for everyday looks like just going out and attending events and parties where I want to look presentable but not like the star of the show, I have been using Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation + Concealer + Pressed Powder. Yep, the whole combo except for the stick foundation, which is for dry skin.

About the oxidation, it doesn’t oxidize on me the way I apply it. In fact, the Maybelline Fit Me seems to look better on my skin after a few hours. I like how it’s not very obvious that I have foundation on – it just looks like my natural skin is blemish-free! Also, it gives my skin a “blurred” look so blemishes and imperfections are not so obvious.

HOW I APPLY MAYBELLINE FIT ME

Start with a clean, moisturized face. Give the moisturizer a few minutes to be absorbed into skin.

First, I apply a thin layer of the FitMe foundation (shade 120), using fingers or swiping with a damp Beauty Blender-type sponge, make sure my whole face is evenly covered. This is kind of my rush way to apply the first layer of foundation. Next, I kind of like bounce the sponge around my face, this pushes the foundation into the skin and just gives a better finish that I like. I check to see if I need to add more foundation in certain areas, but usually, one layer is enough. Don’t forget the neck!

After the liquid foundation, it’s time to cover undereye circles, redness and blemishes with the Fit Me concealer (shade 20), so I apply the concealer, and then blend it with the damp sponge again, just bouncing the sponge around until the concealer is blended.

I totally recommend getting one of those egg-shaped sponges. I am using a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I can’t praise it enough! It is soft so it’s very gentle on the skin even if I am in a hurry tapping the ball sponge around my face. I bought mine from Lazada for around P300, it seems authentic enough but I’m no expert… I have bought some off-brand or local brand beauty blender sponges before and the sponge on my Real Techniques feels so much better and less rubbery than the previous ones I have.

After concealer, I lightly contour and highlight using Maybelline V-Face Duo Stick (the darker one), and blend the contour and the highlight with the sponge again, using different parts of the sponge so the contour and the highlight don’t mix.

When all the cream-based products are done, that’s the only time I do powder products. So I get the Fit Me pressed powder (shade 120), and pat a very thin layer of powder, just enough to set the foundation and concealer. Very thin layer. We don’t want to look cake-y!

Then blush and then highlighter again! Powder highlighter this time.

And then my secret – I do another round of tapping the damp sponge on my face to make sure that everything is melded to my face, LOL. 😀 That’s it! For this look on the picture below, this was for an event + malling afterwards, and I forgot to put setting spray.

Forgot to take a “before” picture because I was in a hurry to leave.

Anyway, the results:

After 10 hours, the makeup still looks great! From walking around Trinoma, having dinner, to watching the last full show, buhay pa ang foundation. The blush and contouring is almost invisible now, but the foundation was still good. No more lipstick after eating and drinking during the movie, and too lazy to retouch since I was going home.

And that sweat is real! You can see that I’m sweating from the heat after coming home and tidying up my things, and the makeup is still staying put. No oxidation, too!

Maybelline Fit Me Review

It looks very natural, it just looks like I have glowing skin, but trust me, in reality, my skin is not that nice-looking! 🙂 But thanks to Maybelline Fit Me + my highlighter, it looks glowing and blemish-free.

You can purchase Maybelline Fit Me products from department stores and online from Lazada.
