Seaking Frozen Products

A couple of weeks ago, Seaking sent me some of their products to try. They have some:

  • Marinated Boneless Bangus (Hot)
  • Boneless Bangus Belly
  • Calamari Sticks
  • Squid Bits

The Marinated Boneless Bangus was so convenient to have on hand on days when I forgot to defrost anything and needed to have a meal ready in an hour. It only takes around 30 mins to thaw – the vacuum sealed packaging makes it easy to run water over it or submerge it in water without altering the taste of the marinated bangus.

Each pack contains 2 bangus. I cut mine to make it easier to fry. Bangus cooks fast, too, so 15 minutes later, lunch is ready!

As for the Bangus Belly, I made Bangus Belly Salpicao! It’s a very easy recipe but it’s also delicious. What’s more, the bangus belly is also boneless so it’s easy to eat, too!

It uses minimal ingredients, most of which you probably already have at home 🙂

Here’s the recipe for the BANGUS BELLY SALPICAO.

BANGUS BELLY SALPICAO

2 packs Seaking Bangus Belly, cut into manageable size

Marinate with:

  • Salt & pepper
  • Calamansi (5-7 pcs)
  • Worcestershire sauce, about 1/3 cup
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, about 1/4 cup

Fry the bangus belly in olive oil (this is additional, not part of the one used for the marinade).

After frying all the bangus, cook the remaining marinade in the leftover olive oil. Drizzle over the cooked bangus.

Top bangus salpicao with fried garlic ( I was too lazy to chop and fry garlic so I just used Daddy Mikk’s garlic crunch since we had some on hand ? )

Drizzle with additional EVOO and Worcestershire if desired.

Verdict: really good! The family has asked to keep this on our regular menu 🙂

As for the Squid, we made Fried Calamari Sticks with them! The Seaking Frozen Calamari Sticks were already cleaned and cut. We just rinsed them a bit, then marinated with calamansi, salt & pepper. Then breaded it the usual way – flour, egg, bread crumbs. Then fried it.

I was worried that it was going to be tough, but it wasn’t at all! I paired it with some homemade honey mustard sauce — just a mix of mayo, mustard and honey.

For the Squid Bits, I am planning to make Squid Sisig with them!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and I hope you try the Bangus Belly Salpicao recipe!
