I received this toothpaste from a PR package a few months ago. I was still using up another toothpaste, and I’m trying to be good about not opening up new skincare / beauty products without using up the old one first. It’s just too much clutter to have a lot of half-full products in the bathroom.
Anyway, a couple of months ago, I noticed that my teeth were starting to look yellow. Some lipstick colors would make my teeth seem so yellow that it looked embarrassing! My teeth are naturally creamy white but this is yellower than normal. I don’t smoke, but I drink coffee almost every day, and tea quite often – so I am pretty sure those are the causes of my teeth turning yellow.
WHITE GLO CHARCOAL DEEP STAIN REMOVER
I remembered this toothpaste so I thought I would give it a try. As usual, I did not have very high expectations of it working since it was just a toothpaste. I have used “whitening” toothpastes before and they didn’t give dramatic results even after I finished the entire tube. I even used baking soda on my teeth for some time to help whiten them, but it was too messy and I didn’t like the taste of baking soda.
The toothpaste is called White Glo Charcoal Deep Stain Remover, and the package includes a toothbrush and some tooth picks.
Here is what the toothpaste looks like:
It’s just like a regular toothpaste, but not too minty. It suds well but not too much.
I am actually very happy with this toothpaste/toothbrush combo! 🙂 I checked Lazada and I remember the price was P199 for the set, maybe it was on sale or promo, but now it’s P299.
Anyway, after brushing my teeth for the the first time, I didn’t notice anything different right after. However, after a few days of using it, before I was going to brush my teeth that day, I looked in the mirror and noticed that my teeth were whiter!
I started using it daily and I noticed that my teeth became less yellow. I wouldn’t say they were “white” like those in the toothpaste commercials. My teeth became realistically white – still creamy but definitely much less yellow than they were before. When White Glo claims “stain-removing” it really removes the stains – my teeth became whiter in the sense that almost all the yellowish stains were removed, and my teeth became as yellow-less as how it would naturally look without all the coffee & tea stains.
I didn’t feel like the toothpaste was abrasive, which I liked. I tend to shy away from products that can weaken my teeth’s enamel, as many strong teeth whitening products tend to do. I didn’t feel that White Glo was harsh.
After using White Glo straight for a few weeks, I felt that my teeth were as white as they would naturally go. After the initial “wow” and big improvement, there was really nowhere to go in terms of teeth whitening except maintenance. Also, White Glo did not have that strong, minty effect that I sometimes look for when I want fresh breath for a longer period of time. White Glo is slightly minty just like regular toothpaste, but if you are looking for extra minty freshness, this isn’t that minty.
So I started switching things up. I would use my minty toothpastes on some days, and then use White Glo every 5-7 days. So I get minty breath on most days, and when I feel that my teeth are starting to get yellowish again, I use White Glo to remove the yellowness, and it still works! It is able to remove any yellowness that may have accumulated in the last few days. This helps the White Glo last longer, kasi mahal pala siya (P299). I would say that it is slightly more effective than regular commercial whitening toothpastes.
Again, don’t expect it to magically make your teeth as white as those in the commercials. However, it will remove yellow stains from your teeth and make it as close to your natural teeth color as possible. The whitening effect is not that dramatic, but I noticed it. I took some Before & After photos but put side by side, you would hardly notice the difference in the photos. I find the change more noticeable in real life, and it has made me confident again to wear any lipstick color.
