Hello, everyone! I’m so excited for my friend Shirley because she was picked to be one of the artists featured in Vida.
What is VIDA?
Vida is one of the e-commerce businesses funded by Google Ventures. In a nutshell, you can pick from artists’ works and have them made into blouses, scarves, etc…!
You get to wear your favorite art/designs! How cool is that? You would expect something like that to be really expensive, but it’s actually affordable, considering that you get good quality fashion + art! You also get to support artists you like. Prices are from US $45 – $90.
The people who make your blouse, scarf, also benefit! Part of the profits go to helping provide literacy programs to the factory workers in Pakistan. They learn to read, write, and do basic math and build a better life for generations to come.
As a customer, you are connected to both the designer and the person who made your order. Check out this YouTube video explaining Vida. I think it’s very empowering, knowing that your order touches the lives of actual people.
Once you pick your design, the item can be produced and printed in a matter of days! However, just to be safe, allot about 60 days max for everything, including shipping.
