I have been hearing about Splice from my foodie friends for a while now, and last weekend, I finally visited the resto bar.
Splice Events Place & Restaurant
Splice is located at The Portal in the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong. This is the area behind EDSA Central. For those who have not been there in a long time, the place has been fixed up and is now home to condominiums. It’s all nice and clean now, and relatively safer.
There is a squarish field of grass in the middle that hosts a food / farmers’ market during the weekends. Splice is located on the right side of the field, if you’re coming from EDSA.
Splice Events Place & Restaurant is the first restaurant of The Menu Group that includes Sasa, Sobremesa, and Sangkap, among others. Head chef is Chef Benjo Tuason of URBN, Relik and Sobremesa.
Parking – you can park on the side streets inside Greenfield if you dare (at night and on weekends), but there is a nearby parking lot, just ask around.
Splice also hosts events and special occasions – including Spoken Word events, Geek Fight trivia nights, PR launches, company functions, baptisms, reunions, and others.
THE FOOD
The highlight of the event were the newly launched dishes like the Splice Sizzlers (sizzling plate dishes), burgers and pasta.
I was only able to try a few dishes, and the ones that I liked and recommend are:
Sriracha Butter Chicken Wings (P280) – I really liked these chicken wings! They are very fragrant with butter, but the mild heat of the sriracha mellows out the butter. Recommended!
Splice Sisig (P220) – LOVE! This is not your typical roadside sisig. Splice’s sisig is flavorful and meaty, salty and umami, but not very fatty. I don’t think they use actual pig ears in this sisig. The addition of the red peppers is different, but a welcome change. This is the one I will go back for + the Sriracha Butter Chicken Wings 
Barbecue Burger (P260) – 1/3-pound beef patty, loads of caramelized onions, and bacon – just look at it!
Aside from regular a la carte offerings, Splice promotions include a Sizzlers frequency card, where you can get your 8th order of a Splice Sizzler for free!
They also have Barkada Nights, which features unlimited cocktails per order of pre-selected Sizzlers.
