Novotel Manila Araneta Center Executive Suite Bedroom

Last weekend, we enjoyed a staycation at an Executive Suite of the Novotel Manila Araneta Center.

I already reviewed their regular rooms during a previous staycation, so for an introduction to the hotel, please read my previous staycation post here.

The Executive Suite costs P9,500 net, and comes with access to the Premier Lounge on the 24th floor. I already reviewed the Premier Lounge in my previous staycation post as well. The Executive Suite comes with buffet breakfast for 2, and we could choose to have breakfast at the Premier Lounge or at Food Exchange Manila, which I also covered in my previous staycation post.

Check-in and check-out is at the 24th Floor Premium Lounge area. You can enjoy the lounge while you wait for them to process your check-in. They will offer you drinks like coffee, tea or juices – they are free and part of your Premier Lounge access. Check-in is at 2pm. The Premier Lounge is a nice place to get some work done – bring your laptop, enjoy the view, the fast internet, and the free-flowing drinks and snacks.

Wifi is FAST and available throughout the hotel. You will be given the wifi password upon check-in.

Parking is available – don’t forget to have your parking validated upon check-out, it’s free if you stayed at the hotel.

THE EXECUTIVE SUITE

The Executive Suite has:

  • a sala with a big TV and a desk
  • a coffee / snack bar
  • a smaller restroom
  • a very big, walk-in type bathroom with a tub, a shower, and another restroom
  • a corridor-type closet
  • a bedroom with a chair

Here is a quick walk-through of the suite:

The Executive Suite is spacious, as expected, with 59 sqm of space. As usual, we brought our own shows to watch – we brought a laptop and an HDMI cable. Since the bedroom TV is fixed to the wall, we couldn’t reach the TV’s HDMI port. We just called the Front Desk, and they had someone from IT come in to help us connect the HDMI cable. We called again before checking out so that he could help us unplug our HDMI cable from the TV. I really appreciate that they helped us with this.

Why do we do this? Well, for us, staycations are a chance to become hotel vegetables – sink into a comfortable bed, cool sheets, cold-aircon, watch our favorite shows, and forget about the world… no chores, no problems… We bond over shared experiences, and TV happens to be one of the easiest and laziest options.

Connecting our laptop to the TV means that whatever we can watch on the laptop, we can watch on that big ass TV! Even Netflix and YouTube. Note that the TV is big! Anything less than 1080p just won’t look good.

To really enjoy the bath tub, I suggest bringing your own bath bombs or bath fizzies! There is a bluetooth speaker on the bedside table that you can connect to your phone or tablet so you can play your Spotify playlists.

As is the trend nowadays, the bathroom is see-through…

SUMMARY

We really enjoyed our stay at the Executive Suite. Novotel is Accor’s mid-range hotel brand, so the amenities are not as luxurious as more expensive hotels. However, they are still very nice and we had so much fun. I like how spacious, open and bright the layout is. The color scheme is also very cheerful.

Even with little sleep from all the TV watching, I still felt refreshed when I woke up. The bed, the air-con, the soft sheets, everything made our stay really very comfortable.

I really, really liked the spacious bathroom. Probably the only issue I had with it was that it was see-through, but with the door open, you can totally watch TV while in the tub!

If you live near or around Quezon City, Novotel is easily accessible and it’s a nice getaway, but it’s not too far away that you can’t quickly go home in case of emergencies. It’s also located inside the Araneta Center, so you have easy access to a mall, a cinema, shops, restaurants and supermarkets, too, just in case.
